40 Weeks!

Today is my due date!! It's such a beautiful day too!
40 weeks!
And guess what....no baby yet!
Which I had a feeling she wouldn't come before her due date. At every appointment she has always measured exactly on time, and once she was a week behind.
But with that said...I'm beyond ready for her to move out and make her appearance! Since last Wednesday I've been really uncomfortable and pretty miserable. I have defiantly been soaking in these last few days with her in my belly. But at this point all I want is her here on the outside. It's kind of hard to enjoy things when I just am feeling pretty crappy.

I'm taking these days to make sure we are prepared for our little one. I realized after I got out of the hospital last week that we still had things we needed to do and buy. So thankfully as of today, we are officially done and there isn't anything left to do except to wait. Which has been driving me crazy. I know I'm suppose to rest but I find myself cleaning and organizing(well reorganizing) almost anything I can. Or I go out shopping because the thought of sitting at home I just can't deal with. I've seen a lot of Target these past few weeks...and Target has gotten a lot of my money...
You'd think for feeling crappy I wouldn't want to do anything...well that's the funny thing about pregnancy. NOTHING makes sense at all.

How far along? 40 Weeks

Total weight gain: 27+ but at my appointment I couldn't see the scale past my belly and I forgot to look.

Maternity clothes? I have a few maternity shirts I love. If I wear jeans I usually just use a belly band. But mainly I live in leggings and yoga pants. Because it's all about the comfort now.

Stretch marks? None! I'm crossing my fingers that I just may be lucky enough to not get any!

Sleep: Horrible...I'm so uncomfortable and get all achy that it makes sleeping impossible.

Best moment of this week: Hmmm...it FINALLY stopped raining on Sunday. It's my due date and knowing that we will meet our girl soon is just exciting!

Miss anything? Where do I even begin?! Within the past week I've gotten even more uncomfortable and tired. Which I didn't think was possible. But of course I was proven wrong ;)

Movement: Yes! She has developed a habit of being pretty calm throughout the day. But at night she goes crazy. Thank goodness all of these months of no sleep have prepared me to possibly have a little night owl.

Food cravings: None. I find myself extremely hungry. But food just isn't appealing to me.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Not really

Gender: A little princess!

Labor signs: Braxton hicks contractions, and I also have been getting painful ones which could be actual contractions. I'm not dilating, but things are thinned out down there and her head is really low. Any day now!

Symptoms:  Pressure. Headaches. Back aches. Hip aches. Body aches. Exhaustion. Isn't it lovely?!

Belly button in or out? It seems to be out/flat

Wedding rings on or off? Off...I have a different ring that I'll wear out. Oh how I can't wait to wear my rings again!

Happy or moody most of the time: I've found myself to be pretty on edge lately. I have zero tolerance for, well just life in general right now. But I'm SO happy and excited that it's now down to just days until we FINALLY meet our baby girl!

Looking forward to: To meeting this little girl! Seriously little lady, you can come like now ^_^

38 Weeks

38 weeks
2 weeks to go
14 days!!!!

Happy 1st day of Fall!! I love fall. Just the season is so pretty with the changing leaves, all of the pumpkin and fall flavors, and of course we will have a fall baby! So much excitement for this time of year.

I don't know how much bigger this girl is going to get, but my insides literally feel like there's no room left. And I really hope she comes soon. But I do know that being a first time mom that it's very common to go past the due date. And she will come on her own time.

Monday night was my last night teaching dance until she's here. I love teaching, but when you are off balance and have a bowling ball infant of you. It just isn't fun. Plus I can't move like I normally would and well, you get the idea. I can't wait to go back to the studio though! And bring her with me of course.

Lately I've been feeling pretty heavy and huge. So at dance I decided to take a picture and compare.

The picture on the left was just 3 weeks ago. And the one on the right was Monday. There's a difference but not what I expected! I feel like I LOOK smaller and my belly is just pointing out more. It's so crazy how much your body changes during pregnancy.

How far along? 38 Weeks

Total weight gain: 27+

Maternity clothes? Defiantly! I don't think I could survive without them!

Stretch marks? Not yet! They say you can get them in the last few weeks...so I'm hoping I don't. I'm constantly putting Vitamin E oil on my stomach. But my stomach has felt super sore so I'm not sure if they'll show up these last few weeks.

Sleep: I don't even know that word means anymore.

Best moment of this week: Caleb and I spent the day together in Gettysburg. Just shopping and wondering around. Since it's going to be a long time before we will just have us time. I know we will make time for us, but it'll just be different. We won't be able to wake up one morning and be like spur of the moment we are taking a day trip.

Miss anything? SLEEP! Seriously...I can't even sleep for two straight hours. And don't even dare to tell me to get used to it at this point because I probably will just look at you like you're crazy.

Movement: Yes! And I've noticed that she moves more when her daddy is around. During the day if he's working, she's pretty calm. But as soon as he gets home she has a party. It's honestly so adorable.

Food cravings: None. I honestly don't even care for food. But I do find myself extremely thirsty and craving drinks.

Anything making you queasy or sick: As long as I avoid meat I'm okay.

Gender: A sweet baby girl!

Labor signs: Braxton hicks contractions. I have been feeling some minor cramping. But I don't really think they're signs. I'm sure this girl is going to come when we least expect it.

Symptoms:  Achy back...I even have gone to the chiropractor but it only helps a little bit. Super stuffy and runny nose. I sound like I'm sick all the time. And I have to pee ALL the time now.

Belly button in or out? It seems to be out/flat

Wedding rings on or off? Off...I have a different ring that I'll wear out. But I'm so scared that my fingers will randomly swell and I won't be able to get my wedding & engagement ring off...

Happy or moody most of the time: I'm seriously a basket full of emotions lately. Anything makes me teary eyed!

Looking forward to: To meeting this little girl! Seriously little lady, you can come like now ^_^

36 Weeks

36 weeks...only 4 to go...say what?!
Little miss is the size of a honeydew and for some reason that just sounds adorable. She's currently packing on the body fat and all of her organs are fully functioning!
And I'm in my last full month of being pregnant...
Can I just explain how unreal that feels. Like I'm pretty sure we just announced I was pregnant...last month.

I am SO ready for her to be here.

They say the last month of pregnancy is the longest. But I really feel like it's going to fly by as my excitement only builds that I will soon be holding her in my arms <3

How far along? 36 Weeks

Total weight gain: 25+ I finally paid attention at the doctors. But I haven't gained any weight for about 3 weeks now. They said my weight gain would be little to none at this point. So no concerns there!

Maternity clothes? Defiantly! Mainly all of my tops are maternity because they just flatter a bump better. If I'm home I've been living in yoga pants and leggings.

Stretch marks? Not yet! Still applying Vitamin E oil and Palmer's Stretch mark lotion every morning and night. I do have a little red mark where my belly button ring used to be. I'm not sure if it's a stretch mark or not. But I don't really consider it since it looks like a dot.

Sleep: HA! I wish. It's been getting worse. Between waking up to pee. And now being completely uncomfortable. It's impossible.

Best moment of this week: Finding out that she FINALLY moved head down! At our last ultrasound a few weeks ago, we learned that she was head up..and still was last week. Well sometime between last week and today she moved head down and into position! Praise God because this was something that was seriously starting to concern me. I know, I know, babies can flip even when labor starts. But it's a huge relief knowing she's turned. Now she just needs to stay that way!

Miss anything? Being comfortable, not being so hot all the time, and getting a full nights sleep (which I know isn't in my future anytime soon) OH! and sleeping on my belly. I have always been a stomach sleeper, so I can't wait for that.

Movement: Yes! She is one active little girl. Not to mention that her movements have been getting more strong which is pretty painful at times. And her little feet are in my ribs...it is really painful and I'm pretty sure she's going to bruise them. Guess she's going to be a little dancer with her strong legs ^_^

Food cravings: Nothing really this week. I still prefer ice cream, but I wouldn't say I'm craving it.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I've been getting nauseous again...I think it's because I switched my prenatal vitamins...I should learn to just stick with what works.

Gender: A sweet baby girl!

Labor signs: Braxton hicks contractions that have started to become a little more frequent and kind of painful. But it's all a good sign that my body is preparing itself for labor and delivery.

Symptoms:  Super stuffy nose and just feeling really off. Aching back almost all day. And completely exhausted.

Belly button in or out? It's still an innie-outie but more on the flat side. But it pops out when she's laying right there or pushing it out.

Wedding rings on or off? Off...I have a different ring that I'll wear out. But I'm so scared that my fingers will randomly swell and I won't be able to get my wedding & engagement ring off...

Happy or moody most of the time: Lately I've been kind of more moody...but that's because I'm SO uncomfortable and tired. Can you blame me?!

Looking forward to: Uhhhh this little girl will be here NEXT month!!!!!!!!!!!

29 Weeks

29 weeks this week!
Baby is the size of an acorn squash and weighs anywhere from 2.5 pounds to 3.8 pounds. And starting to fill out, I can't wait to squeeze those little cheeks!

This is my last week in my 20s! Time defiantly has gone by fast, I feel like I was just at the halfway mark. I can defiantly tell that I've hit my third trimester. I'm getting pretty uncomfortable and have had a lot of cramping. I've been checked and the doctors have ran tests. Everything is normal and they just want me to not overdue it. And stop whatever I'm doing when I feel bad.

How far along? 29 Weeks

Total weight gain: +18 lbs...that number is a little shocking to me, but I'm finally at a healthy weight which is good. I honestly don't remember what I weighed at the doctors...I was talking to the nurse and didn't even look at the scale. But they said I'm still at a good weight!

Maternity clothes? I prefer maternity shirts over regular. They just flatter my bump better. Occasionally I'll wear my pair of maternity jeans. But I still will wear regular bottoms. I'm getting to the point where I really just hate clothes in general though. It's a weird feeling.

Stretch marks? Not yet! Fingers crossed they stay away.

Sleep: Between tossing from my left side to my right, and having to pee almost every hour. You can imagine that it's still not so great at all.

Best moment of this week: Passing my glucose test! It honestly wasn't even that bad at all. Strangely I enjoyed the drink...maybe a little to much because now I'm craving it...

Miss anything? Not to much, just feeling comfortable in clothes again.

Movement: Defiantly. My ribs are her favorite spot to be. Her kicks don't hurt quite yet, they can just be uncomfortable when she decided she's going to push some limb out and stretch my stomach.

Food cravings: Cereal, yogurt, and iced coffee are normal cravings. The bizarre one is the orange flavored glucose drink...call me weird and crazy because I think I am for even wanting it again! I even hate orange flavored anything.

Anything making you queasy or sick: Laying on my back for to long makes me feel nauseas. And for some reason anything frozen really bothers me.

Gender: A sweet baby girl!

Labor signs: I have started to get some cramping, and braxton hicks. I don't think they're really signs. But they get my body ready for the real thing.

Symptoms: A lot of aches and pains, especially in my ribs and back. I still get so exhausted by the afternoon.

Belly button in or out? Well when little miss likes to poke it out, it is out. Otherwise it's still an innie-outie.

Wedding rings on or off? On and off. If it's a humid day, there's no way. I think I'm going to get a fake set of rings just so I constantly have something on my finger. I hate not wearing my rings. Especially since I love mine so much.

Happy or moody most of the time: In between. I have days where I'm in a great mood. Than other days I'm not.

Looking forward to: My birthday! It's coming up soon. Also we have another ultrasound scheduled in August. It's mainly to check a problem they discovered back at 20 weeks but I'm extremely excited we get to see our baby girl again.

28 Weeks

28 Weeks this week!
Baby girl is the size of a large eggplant.
This week I went for my glucose test...it actually wasn't bad at all! I liked the flavor surprisingly. Now just praying for good results.

How far along? 28 Weeks

Total weight gain: +18 lbs...that number is a little shocking to me, but I'm finally at a healthy weight which is good.

Maternity clothes? I prefer maternity shirts over regular. They just flatter my bump better. Occasionally I'll wear my pair of maternity jeans. But I still will wear regular bottoms.

Stretch marks? Not yet! Fingers crossed they stay away.

Sleep: Awful. Terrible. I'd love to have just one decent night sleep.

Best moment of this week: Hearing our little girl's heartbeat is always the best moment! Also I have been informed of when my baby shower is...I can't wait! This little girl is already so loved, and I can't wait to see how my shower turns out. Everything else besides the date, location, and time is a secret.

Miss anything? Being able to just do normal activities...like a normal person. I teach dance to little ones and it's getting harder and harder to do certain things.

Movement: Indeed! I even feel her little hiccups now. So adorable. She gets them a lot...hopefully she doesn't when she's born.

Food cravings: Not really anything in particular.

Anything making you queasy or sick: All meat still bothers me. And pretty much everything I eat gives me heartburn.

Gender: A sweet baby girl!

Labor signs: I have started to get some cramping, and braxton hicks. I don't think they're really signs. But they get my body ready for the real thing.

Symptoms: Horrible heartburn. I've been starting to get an achy back and my legs are sore by the end of the day. Oh, and exhaustion. Totally have that.

Belly button in or out? Uhh..it's like flat. Not completely but I have a feeling it's either going to be flat or pop out. We'll see!

26 Weeks

How far along are you? 26 weeks

Cravings: Soft served ice cream and cheesecake…wow I’m SO healthy. I haven't had ice cream yet, but I made a cheesecake and it's become a nightly treat. Also cheese...I have a feeling this little girl is going to love dairy.  I have been enjoying wraps lately. I prefer them over sandwiches.

Weight Gain: +18 lbs…that’s what I was at at my last appointment. So until I go again I won’t know.

Comments:
“Your belly is defiantly higher, looking like where a girl should be.” - my one sis-in-law who thought I carried to low to be a girl at first...those old wives tales..
“My goodness, you’re really popping out there!” - Literally almost everyone likes to say that. As if I didn’t know this.
"I see your belly button starting to stick out there" - my mom-in-law

Favorite moment this week: Caleb finally witnissed one of her bigger kicks! It caught him off guard because he was in the middle of talking. And he just stopped almost in shock. Also, I’m pretty sure I’m feeling her hiccup! They just feel like a small little heartbeat and it happens for a few minutes. And no, it’s not my heartbeat because I checked and it doesn’t match my pulse.

Fears: The reality of labor hits me and I do start to feel scared. But I’ve also been doing a lot of research on all natural births and how to stay calm. I’ve just started researching so the fear is still there.

General mood: Anti-social some days. Other days I’m a pretty happy person.

Sleep: I hate this one…I just can’t seem to be able to sleep well.

Things I was surprised by: How little of an appetite I still have. Unless you put something sweet in front of me.

Things I am most looking forward to: Being done taking medicine…the doctors found that I have an infection and taking antibiotics goes against what I want…but if it doesn’t get treated it could spread to the baby. So I’m praying it goes away and I don't have to take any more.

What I think is really cool and crazy: How amazing it is to watch my belly grow. Like our bodies are built for this and it’s pretty surreal to see it happening.

Food Aversions: Still meat. I was able to stomach a burger the other day…but I really rather not have one again. I'm really not a fan of avocado still...I tried guacamole the other day...ehh is all I can say to that one. Which is super sad because that used to be my favorite.

Maternity Clothes: A few shirts, and two dresses. Crazy thing…I went shopping the other day for maternity shorts and pants, none fit me..still! The legs are just to baggy. So I went home and tried on my regular jeans, and they still fit me. A little tight but they defiantly went up. I think it’s crazy, but I don’t really know where this weight I’m gaining is going.

Gender: Little Princess!

23 Weeks

23 Weeks!
Baby is the size of a grapefruit, but so much sweeter!
Time is sure flying by now. Probably because most of my time is spent feeling and seeing this little girl kick. I've began her clothes collection, and this girl is going to have more clothes than her mommy and daddy combined. But I don't mind one bit! Girl clothes are just so much fun.

How far along? 23 Weeks

Total weight gain: Last time I got weighed, I was 116. So until my next doctor appointment I won't update.

Maternity clothes? My normal clothes are defiantly fitting weird...not tight, just to me don't look right. I have a feeling I'm going to need to invest in some new clothes soon.

Stretch marks? Nope, still using that lotion! I use a mix of cocoa and shea butter lotions.

Sleep: I slept great the first two nights we got home. Didn't even wake up once to pee. But now it's back to being horrible again. I just want to sleep!

Best moment of this week: I start teaching at a new dance studio and summer classes start this week. So I'm really excited to be back in a dance studio again. Now let's just hope my energy can keep up!

Miss anything? A good nights sleep. Please don't tell me "oh, well you better get used to it" I'm well aware of that fact. But telling a pregnant woman to get used to not sleeping really isn't a good idea. I have to take a nap during the day because I feel like I can't make it through.

Movement: Yes! I could sit with my hand feeling her move all day long. Also I can see her movements as well. She defiantly moves more when music is playing, or when her daddy is talking.

Food cravings:  B.L.T sandwiches with cheese, and blueberries. I've almost eaten half of a big carton myself of blueberries.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I can't stand the thought of meat, mainly chicken. This past week, and weekend I dealt with feeling really awful and I think milk is to blame. Not like a lactose reaction, just making me extremely nauseous. I stopped drinking it and I'm starting to feel better. Go figure because I used to crave it and drink two big glasses a day!

Gender Guesses: Baby girl!!!!!!!

Labor signs: No way!

Symptoms: Fatigue. I've been having some hip pain, which really bothers me at night. Restless leg syndrome happens at night...no matter how active I am during the day.

Belly button in or out? In...well truthfully my belly button has always been an innie/outie...and now it's starting to bump out just a little bit.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Which I really hope they stay on the whole pregnancy. They are starting to feel a little tight...but I know summer heat doesn't help.

Happy or moody most of the time: So moody. I think the combination of being tired and sick just make me not a happy camper.

Looking forward to: Caleb has a four day weekend, so I'm excited to just spend some quality time together.

22 Weeks

22 Weeks!
Officially 6 months pregnant. Only 3 to go!
Baby girl is the size of a papaya and weighs almost a pound.
I have noticed her growth spurt because my belly has popped a little more!

We also have decided on a name for her!! But we probably aren't announcing her name until she's born. I know that's probably super annoying but it's just what Caleb and I wanted. I can't wait to announce her name because I'm totally in love with it!

How far along? 22 Weeks

Total weight gain: Last time I got weighed, I was 116. So until my next doctor appointment I won't update.

Maternity clothes? I defiantly prefer maternity shirts, and I'm wearing a size up in shorts, only because they actually button and I don't have to deal with maternity bands. I still don't fit into any maternity pants or shorts.

Stretch marks? Nope, still using that lotion! I use a mix of cocoa and shea butter lotions.

Sleep: It was horrible but I think it's because our bed we slept in on vacation felt like a rock. As soon as we got back home I slept the entire night...which never happens.

Best moment of this week: Our family vacation/babymoon! And deciding on her name! It makes everything more real referring to her as her name!

Miss anything? I still don't have my appetite fully back. Most days I'm not hungry at all. I'd love to have energy..still lacking that.

Movement: Yes! She's a morning mover and a little night owl. My favorite time of day is right before bed because Caleb and I spend time talking and watching and feeling her move.

Food cravings:  Still nothing. I could eat certain things over others. But I wouldn't call them cravings.

Anything making you queasy or sick: I can't stand the thought of meat, mainly chicken. Lately, every time I eat or drink I have to fight for it to stay down...it's awful. I think since she's getting bigger, it's making my stomach smaller.

Gender Guesses: Baby girl!!!!!!!

Labor signs: No way!

Symptoms: Fatigue, nausea, and round ligament pain. Which is starting to become more painful. Also, growing pains. Last week my belly defiantly popped more! I think I have what's called restless leg syndrome...at night I can't seem to get my legs comfortable and they are all tingly.

Belly button in or out? In...well truthfully my belly button has always been an innie/outie...and now it's starting to bump out just a little bit.

Wedding rings on or off? On. Which I really hope they stay on the whole pregnancy.

Happy or moody most of the time: So moody...and emotional...still. I do notice that I get extremely grumpy if I'm hungry.....hangry much?!

Looking forward to: Finishing our registries and shopping for her.
